Today I am Thankful for my Grandma and Grandpa Aagard. They are my mom's parents. When I was little I remember the red carpet down stairs and playing at the bar they had. When we moved down to St. George, we would get to take turns and spend a week alone during the summers. They had a orangish colored tin that almost always had m&m's in it. That was one of the first things we would ask for. Every once in awhile they would put Reece's pieces. That was always a treat for me. They still have it and my kids love it. It is one of the first things that they ask for.
They have always been there for my family. They love to babysit my children when they can. When I was pregnant with Paige and had to go to Salt Lake, they kept Tessa for the weekend. I am very grateful that they are in St. George and that my kids get to know them. They love to go over to g-ma and g-pa's with Sophie (their dog).
When I call for my g-ma and my g-pa answers, he comes up with the funniest replies on what my grandma is doing. She is usually "sleeping" and he has to wake her up. One time his said that she was sleeping and she is always grumpy when he wakes her up, but he would do it for me. He said that if she hits him, he is going to throw the phone down, run and scream.
They have been married for over 50 years and still in love. They love the outdoors, golfing and great grandkids, grandkids, and their kids. I hope I can be like them when I get to become grandparents. They are very young at heart and have not slowed down. I love them very much!!!
