almost done!!!

I have only 2 more weeks left of the maintenance period... It has only been a week of being on it, but for some reason, a very long week... I haven't got passed the 2lb. mark, which is very exciting.... I have been tempted with dutch oven potatoes and home made apple crisp, this last weekend... I do have to blame myself, I made the apple crisp for Sunday dessert and I also made the potatoes... I put us in charge of the potatoes and Steve was so tired, I told him I would make them... It was my first time making them all by myself, everyone said they were delicious.... After looking and smelling them, I did consider eating some... then I thought, what if I gained weight and went over the 2lb. mark, I would have to not eat the entire day and for dinner have a steak and apple or tomato... I decided it wasn't worth it.... I had to keep reminding myself, 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks.... I did freeze the left over apple crisp, so I can enjoy it when I can...
I just have to be careful when I do get off this diet, I don't go crazy and eat all the things I miss eating, all at once...

Good job, Miss Thang. It's a happy life when our relationship with food changes for the better. My philosophy is that I mostly just eat to live. But I love love love food. I love my life, I enjoy a healthy boday (as much as I can) and I love it when I find fun, delicious food that helps me sustain that kind of life.

Megan, it's really funny-our connection with food and comfort and family! I noticed you posted that you can't have "sugars & carbs" on the maintainance. I believe it is sugars and starches. Bread and potatoes will throw the diet completely off but low carbs is what you want to start introducing your body too after the 500 plan. I felt like I was in heaven when I could eat lower carb yogurt. Never was a yogurt eater but Danon Light n Fit and WW are delicious, especially w/nuts. My breakfast is a yogurt with 1/4 pecans or walnuts and the 3/4 oz Tillamook cheese. Usually a banana or apple for snack. There are so much more you can eat that doesn't get boring. The best thing I found out was that ranch dressing was the lowest carb dressing, even over the low calorie ones. Every thing in moderation, remember though. You can't have 1/2 cup of ranch. If you would like the diabetic program I follow now, I can give it to you. Ashley is maintaining very well on it and so am I. Keep up the great work.
